Indonesia is ranked fifth as the country with the largest gold reserves in the world, based on USGS 2020 data.

Indonesia is recorded to have a 'treasure' of gold amounting to 2,600 tons of Au (gold) or 5% of the world's total gold reserves. The total world gold reserves until 2019 reached 50,300 tons.Citing data from the Gold Booklet released by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) 2020, which processes the USGS 2020 data, Australia became the 'king' of the world's largest gold ruler with a total reserve of 10,000 tonnes.

So, which area in Indonesia has gold ore reserves?

Based on data from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources 2020, Indonesia has gold ore resources reaching 14.96 billion tons, gold metal resources 0.01 million tons, gold ore reserves 3.56 billion tons, and gold metal reserves 0.005 million tons."The number of Indonesian gold ore reserves is the largest in Papua, which is 52%," wrote the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources's Gold Booklet 2020, quoted Wednesday

Ore resources: 5 billion tons.

Metal resources: 0.002 million tons.
